LP SpA’s studded tubes are essential components for the radiant sections of Fired Heaters and for all applications involving highly fouling, erosive fluids, or severe combustion conditions.
Our production process utilizes CNC-controlled machinery for automatic electrical resistance welding. This technology ensures a superior quality forged bond between the cylindrical stud and the base tube: the fusion is deep, uniform, and filler-metal-free, guaranteeing optimal thermal conductivity and unsurpassed mechanical strength. In addition to drastically expanding the heat exchange surface (up to 3 times compared to a bare tube), the studs act as a protective shield against erosion and corrosion, significantly extending the component’s operational life in hostile environments.
Technical Advantages:
- Perfect Metallurgical Bond: Resistance welding ensures the absence of air gaps between the stud and the tube, eliminating thermal resistance.
- High Studding Density: Ability to customize stud pitch and patterns to maximize heat transfer based on fluid viscosity.
- Extreme Durability: Ideal for high-temperature environments where other finning systems might suffer mechanical failure.
Key Applications:
- Oil & Gas Sector: Vacuum Heaters, refinery heat exchangers, and cracking units.
- Power Generation: Biomass boilers, Waste-to-Energy incinerators, and thermal recovery systems for dirty flue gases.
